Foss Waterway Seaport: Celebrating the rich maritime heritage of Tacoma and South Puget Sound: past, present and future. Located on the historic Foss Waterfront in a century old wooden wheat warehouse (listed on the National Registry of Historic Places) it is one of two remain wooden warehouses with others that once stretched almost a mile long and were originally built to accommodate cargo, “ arriving by rail and departing by sail” during the early years of Tacoma’s history. Activities include: maritime heritage exhibits, heritage boat shop guest boat moorage Education program and event rental space.
