Festival of Sail

Join us on the shores of the Puget Sound for Festival of Sail Tacoma 2017. It’s a rare chance to catch a glimpse, step aboard, and even set sail on some of the grandest ships of yore. 

Tacoma will be one of only a handful of Pacific ports that will host the historic ships. Festival of Sail Tacoma 2017 promises to be the largest event in our region’s history featuring ship tours,
day sails, educational programming, food and beverage, entertainment and fun for the entire family!

Following the success of previous editions, up to 15 of the worlds finest tall ships are expected to show for Tall Ships Tacoma 2017, with at least 4 of those slated as being Class A square
riggers over 131ft, including a visitor from Europe. Predictions for the rest of the fleet include Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain as well as the official tall ships of Los Angeles,
Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson.

As in previous years it all begins with a spectacular Parade of Sail on the 15th, from Vashon Island to Tacoma, and continues with the opportunity for visitors to not only to step aboard the ships,
but also to set sail during the following days of the event.
